Compliance status 

This website is partially compliant with the European standard EN 301 549 (Pdf) as and with its implementing Référentiel d'évaluation de l'Accessibilité Web (RAWeb) v1 [Web Accessibility Assessment  Framework] due to the elements listed below. 

Non-accessible content 

The following content is not accessible for the reason(s) listed:

Non-conformities

• Some text, graphic elements, or focus indicators do not have sufficient contrast.  
• Some link “title” attributes do not exactly match the visible label, although they still allow the destination to be understood.
• Missing alternative text for images conveying information.
• Some decorative images are not correctly ignored by assistive technologies.
• In zoomed view, on small screens, or with modified spacing, certain elements are truncated or overlap.
• Some language changes are not declared or are incorrectly marked.

Disproportionate burden

• Not all office documents available on the site necessarily comply with EN 301 549 V3.2.1; the volume of documents requiring remediation is too large and require excessive means to achieve full compliance. However, we undertake to provide accessible versions of content upon on request (see “Feedback and contact details”).
• Some videos published after 23 September 2020 do not have suitable text transcripts. We endeavour to provide the information conveyed in the videos within the surrounding text.

Content outside the scope of the Act of 28 May 2019

• Downloadable documents provided by third-party administrations and not under our control.
• Office documents published before 23 September 2018.
• All videos published on the site before 23 September 2020.
• Interactive map modules are exempt provided that an alternative is available on the page to obtain the information shown on the map (for example, the full written address). We make every effort to ensure that they remain identifiable and to verify that they do not create a keyboard trap.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 5 September 2025. The information contained in this statement is accurate and based on an actual assessment of the conformity of this website with the requirements set out in RAWeb 1 , such as a self-assessment carried out by the "Musée national d'histoire naturelle Luxembourg (MNHNL)” [Luxembourg National Museum of Natural History].

Control process 

Websites developed within the Renow framework are created using a generic and centralised structure and architecture, following project management processes and complying with the Renow checklist. To ensure neutrality, we regularly call upon accessibility experts to verify the conformity of websites or new functionalities.

Each site is assessed at several stages:

1. During the design of the content structure
2. During the creation of graphic and functional mock ups.
3. Just before it goes online

Once the site is online, checks are carried out as follows:

• For each new piece of content, the editorial team verifies access to all content before publication;
• Each new functionality is evaluated before it is published.

During evaluations, the site is tested with major screen readers, on tablets, mobile phones and PCs. It is also tested with different web browsers (compatibility up to two versions below the current version).

Staff competence

The working procedures incorporate the application of Internet guidelines at each stage of the site’s development (writing, management, development).

Our staff possess the knowledge and skills required to apply these guidelines correctly.

We undertake to reply by email within one month at the latest. • in writing, in a document or by email;
• orally, during an appointment or by telephone.
