Museum Night at the Naturmusée
Saturday, 10 October 2026, 5 pm–1 am
For the 25th edition of Museum Night, the Naturmusée opens its doors until 1 am and invites visitors to an evening dedicated to discovery, science and creativity.
Throughout the evening, visitors can explore the temporary exhibition “The Secret Life of the Naturmusée”, marking 30 years of the museum in the Grund, as well as the permanent exhibition and its collections.
Programme
5–11 pm | Workshop: Microfossils
Become a researcher for an evening! As part of this citizen science workshop, search for tiny fossils hidden in a bone bed from Larochette and discover the clues they provide about the past.

5–11 pm | Workshop: Males Display… Females Choose
Why do some animals have extravagant colours, impressive antlers, spectacular feathers or remarkable songs? Through a playful escape game, discover the strategies animals use to attract partners and compete for reproduction.

7 pm & 9 pm | Performance: The Crocodile Woman
A Pop-Rock Crocodile Woman, torn from her wild jungle by a hunter, recounts a life of glamour, glitter, hopes and disappointments. A performance exploring both female and animal emancipation.

7.30 pm | Special guided tour: The Secret Life of the Naturmusée
To mark 30 years of the museum in the Grund, Patrick Michaely, Director of the Naturmusée, takes visitors behind the scenes of the institution, exploring its professions, collections, methods and projects. From fieldwork and collecting to digital technologies, discover how the museum creates, shares and preserves knowledge about the natural world.

8 pm & 10 pm | Concert: Sounds of the Symbiocene
This musical creation draws on fragments from the Naturmusée’s sound archives of the year 2300. Combining natural sounds with human compositions, it evokes a world in which the boundaries between nature and culture have gradually disappeared.

The museum café will be open throughout the evening, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy a culinary break inspired by nature.
Admission: One wristband provides access to all seven participating museums.
Free shuttle buses operate between the museums.
